After reluctantly leaving Molly in the care of the Company, Matt returned to the apartment building he shared with his lover, but at the moment he wasn't sure of that status. He glanced around the immediate area, wondering just where the monster kept its vigil. Matt climbed up the fire escape of the adjoining building, pausing as he noted that the railing had seemingly melted.
"Sylar," he hissed as he traced the nonexistent railing and glanced up, shocked that he could see straight into his bedroom window. He drew in a quick breath as he realized that this was where he stood, watching, waiting. But for what?
He groaned, shaking his head. The images that he caught from Mohinder's mind making him feeling even more uneasy. His heart ached at the thought that his lover would turn to him, the man that tried to kill him only a few months ago. And he didn't doubt for a second that he would try again.
Matt tensed as the light flickered on in the bedroom he was just watching, his eyes widening as he caught sight of Mohinder and him. Sylar. They were in what could only be referred to as a torrid embrace. He faltered back, unable to believe the vision before him, his heart aching. He trusted him, loved him.
Before he could form another thought he was racing back down the stairs and charging up to the apartment. He opened the door quietly and stood at the entry, his anger spiking even higher as he heard the moans coming from the bedroom.
Matt followed the trail of clothing to the bedroom and raised his gun, knowing that the monster that needed to be slain was preoccupied and would be at his mercy. It was almost too easy. The door to the bedroom was wide open, he could see their bodies intertwined, Sylar's skin seemed almost too pale against Mohinder's. Their gazes were locked onto each other and he was hit with another slash of betrayal.
He couldn't remember a moment when it was that intense with him- and he instantly hated Sylar even more. He could never have this until the monster was gone, wiped from this Earth and from Mohinder's memories. He aimed the gun at Sylar's back and fired, one, two.
Matt cried out as he felt his body being thrown back against the wall and then everything was dark.
~
Mohinder moaned, his orgasm close as Sylar increased his thrusts. He held on tightly, digging his fingers into Sylar's biceps urging him on. Sylar jerked against him, a spray of red covering his face. He gasped, instantly tasting the metallic tang of blood on his lips. He exhaled sharply with alarm as their motions stilled and Sylar slumped on top of him.
"Sylar," he cried out as he pushed up and turned them over, unable to comprehend what had just happened. His eyes widened as the blood seeped out of fresh wounds, staining everything it touched. Mohinder pressed down, desperately trying to stop the flow. "Oh, god."
Sylar's looked up at him, his face paling as his fingers touched Mohinder's. "You planned this-" he accused, sadness and betrayal lacing his words.
"No," Mohinder hissed as he franticly tried to stop the bleeding. "Never-" he voiced his heart aching painfully. "Once, maybe." He whispered truthfully, unable to deny his previous desire to kill him, to revenge his father's death.
"Mohinder," he gasped, his breathing hitching, more labored then before.
"Stay with me," Mohinder urged as he looked at the two angry wounds, realizing that they were exit wounds. "You can heal this," He stammered, blinking back sudden tears. "Your telekinesis-"
"Can't," Sylar groaned, shaking his head. "Too much- not. A doctor." He smiled as he reached up and touched Mohinder's face. "Lov-" he began before his body convulsed and stilled, his eyes glazed, staring straight ahead
"No!" Mohinder cried out as he frantically searched for a pulse and found none. "This isn't-" he began as he pushed away from him, scrambling off the bed, unable to fully comprehend what had just happened. "No." He gasped as he raised his soiled hands in front of his face, staring at them as if they were not his own.
He heard a groan and he turned his head sharply to the right and froze, everything crashing into perfect clarity as he saw Matt knocked out against the wall. Mohinder eyes widened at the gun still in his hands. "How could you?" He cried out as he grabbed for the gun, raising it at him.
Matt blinked his eyes open at him. "Mohinder," he drawled, smiling at him. "You're safe."
"And you're a coward," he bit back, aiming the gun at him. "Shooting him in the back?" He gasped in outrage.
"He's a monster-" Matt began as his gaze locked on Mohinder's.
Mohinder attempted to speak as he felt a sudden pressure in his head. His eyes widening as he heard Matt's voice and the sudden persuasion to drop the gun. He glared at him, his heart aching as he suddenly realized the intrusion, the familiarity of it. "You made me," He whispered as his finger's fought to pull the trigger. "All this time," he hissed, Matt's voice growing stronger in his mind as he fought for control of his own thoughts, his own actions. "You're the monster," he accused as he fired the gun.
~
Sylar exhaled slowly, letting his body slowly come back to life. He jerked up as he heard another gunshot and he quickly glanced down at his chest, almost expecting the pain and pool of blood once more. When he realized that it wasn't his injury he glanced around the room to see Mohinder standing across the room, the gun in his hands. "Mohinder."
He watched as he stiffened, turning on his heels, his eyes wide. "Sylar?" He gasped as he reached out to him, his arm shaking. "You died."
"No," he whispered, shaking his head as he stood up and crossed to him. He wrapped his arms around him and pulled him close, kissing him softly, before he felt Mohinder's urgency and deepened the kiss.
Mohinder pushed away, starting at him intently as his fingers traced over the nonexistence wounds. "How?"
Sylar grinned, "a little power I dug up. I've not had the pleasure of testing it."
~
Mohinder didn't question it as he kissed him once more. He sighed into his mouth before he glanced back at Matt passed out and bleeding at their side, the gunshot only piercing his arm. He turned his gaze to Sylar, knowing that if left in this state he'd harvest his power as well. The thought of him having Matt's power sickened him and without a second thought he shot Matt in the head.
Sylar jumped back at the startling gunshot. "Mohinder!" He cried out, shock apparent in his voice.
"It's done," he whispered as he dropped the gun to the floor and pressed his forehead to Sylar's chest, tears and guilt blooming within him.
Sylar wrapped his arms around him, holding him close as Mohinder's body began to tremble. "I can't-" Mohinder gasped as he pushed him away and grabbed his pants, forcing them on trembling legs before he stumbled out of the room.
~
Sylar stared after Mohinder for a second, quickly grabbing his jeans and sliding them on, intending to follow after him. He paused and glanced down at Parkman on the floor, the dumb fat cop had obviously screwed with Mohinder's mind one too many times. Anger consuming him, he began to search the immediate area and found a stash of Mohinder's lab supplies. He grabbed a syringe and drew a sample of his own blood, knowing that it would cure the miserable human and heal Mohinder in the process.
He sank to his knees and injected his blood into Matt's arm, watching as his body began to knit itself back together. Matt blinked his eyes open and stared up at Sylar in shock.
"You will gather your things and leave," he spat as he stood up. "If you wish to live, you'll never have contact with the good doctor or his little brat."
Matt glared at him in return, forcing himself to his feet. "Why should I?"
Sylar grunted, wishing he didn't revive the scum before him. For Mohinder he reminded himself as he felt a sudden push on his mind and he suddenly realized that he was trying to use his power against him. He chuckled.
"It won't work." Sylar stated as he raised his hand and pinned the man against the wall. "On second thought, if you wish to live, you better leave now. Or god help you, I'll kill you once and for all and I'll harvest that little power of yours."
Matt swallowed, nodding his head.
~
Mohinder's hand shook as he paced, unable to come to the terms that he had pulled the trigger once more, killing another. "For the greater good," he whispered to himself as he heard feet shuffling and he turned expecting to confront Sylar, but was shocked to see Matt standing before him as if nothing happened.
But he knew that it had.
"I'm leaving," Matt grunted without a second glance and rushed out the door. Mohinder could only stare open mouthed as the door closed behind him.
"He deserves worse," Sylar stated from behind him and he whirled around to face him. "You-"
"It doesn't matter," Mohinder objected. "I pulled the trigger-"
"How long?" He interrupted and Mohinder frowned. "How long has he been messing with your mind?"
He bristled, turning his gaze away from him. "Awhile."
Sylar sighed, wrapping his arms around him. "He won't hurt you anymore." He whispered as he kissed the side of his neck. "I won't take his power."
Mohinder gasped, tears burning once more. "Sylar-"
"I know," he whispered as he turned Mohinder around and kissed him properly, holding him close. "I'll keep you safe."
Mohinder nodded, taking a deep breath, letting himself be lulled by Sylar's voice.
