Summary This is my version of what happened on Antar before the pod squad was sent to Earth. The characters in this fic are a combination of what we have seen on screen and what we know about the royal four and their past lives. I have also incorporated characters based on Maria, Kyle, and Liz- but, they are not Maria, Kyle, and Liz.
Author's Note This is an unfinished story based on the Muse's challenges.

Muse #1 August 5, 2002- August 19, 2002
In honor of this *new* group- the Muse is as follows:

A character(s) must be doing something new. Something that they have never done before. Any character(s) and any situation, it just must be something they have not done before.

~1~

Rosy shades of twilight settles around her, basking her in reds and blues. She gazes up into the sky awaiting the news of her future.

"Ava?" The soft voice of her mother calls out, piercing the calming solitude. She sighs and turns towards the voice and forces a smile upon her childlike features.

Her mother walks to her and pauses as she notices the tears that threaten to fall in her daughters eyes. She wraps her arms around her and tries to soothe her. She holds her close, knowing that she has to send her daughter away.

"I am to be his bride?" Ava questions her voice faltering slightly.

Her mother sighs and gazes into her once sparkling blue eyes. "He has asked for you hand-"

"And father agreed?" Ava inquires as she pulls away from her mother’s touch and walks towards the edge of the balcony.

"Ava?" She whispers. "We thought you would be happy-"

"Happy?" Ava gasps. "I am to marry some one I do not love and some one I hardly even know-" her voice fades to a whisper as she notices a servant girl at the door.

"Lady Danela," she states softly as she stands at the door and Ava waves for her to enter. "Lady Danela, your husband is requesting your presence."

"Thank you Tia. Would you tell him that I am talking to Ava and I shall be there shortly."

"Yes, my Lady-" she nods and leaves the room.

Danela sighs and crosses over to Ava. "You say you do not love him- but, your closeness at the rock and at the dance prove otherwise. We thought your feelings for him were true, I saw with my own eyes the soft kiss you shared with him."

Ava looks down and contemplates her past actions and her true feelings. "For awhile, I thought I loved him-"

"What changed?"

Ava takes a deep breath as she feels the rush of tears. "I've been sheltered all my life- then for the first time someone took an interest in me. He looked at me like I was the only one on the planet, he professed his love for me. I was overwhelmed with new feelings and sensations- I thought I loved him."

"Ava," her mother cries as she wraps her arms around her daughters trembling body.

"I shall be his wife-" Ava whispers, "but, I don't know if I can love him."

Danela nods and runs her hand down her daughters blonde curls. "You shall be a grand queen-"

"Queen?!" Ava cries as she pales slightly. "I don't understand-"

"Zan is to be King-" Danela explains. "We thought you knew."

"Zan?" Ava repeats, "is to be king?"

"Ava-" Danela sighs. "Did you not notice his entourage, his clothing, his kingly presence?"

Ava trembles slightly as she takes in the new information "All I noticed was the amber in his eyes, all I saw was him and only him."

Danela continues to hold her tight. She closes her eyes, blinking back her own tears. "To be his queen, you shall leave here-"

Ava pulls back and looks up at her mother with understanding. "And go where?"

"Trellion's Temple-"

"The temple," Ava whispers as tears roll down her face.

"They shall train you and transform you into the Queen I know you can be." Danela states with confidence as she wipes the tears from her daughters eyes.

Ava takes a deep cleansing breath and tries to share her mothers optimistic view. "It will be a new start, a new beginning-"

Muse #2 - A set of words. August 19th- September 2nd, 2002

The words must be used in the tense I've supplied, but they do not have to be in any order as long as they are all contained. Ready? Here they are:

Frivolous - Sorcerer - Enchantment - Punishment

~2~

Ava watches with sadness as the images of her homeland fade away into the distance. Hours pass by slowly, as she tries to muster up the courage to become the queen she is expected to be.

She sighs and looks up at the temple as they round the bend. The distinction and enchantment of the temple seems foreign and cold. Chills run down her spine as she focuses on the main temple, the Trellion Temple, standing tall and forbidding. It is to be her home for the next few years as she learns the duties of the queen.

Ava studies her new surroundings and walks through the vast gardens weaving its way up to the main temple. A wave of fear whips past her, causing her to stop and take a seat on one of the nearby stone benches.

She takes a deep breath as she tries to calm her nerves. She can't quite bring herself to enter the temple and start her new life.

She stares off into the distance and her mind drifts further away. Her thoughts wander and she slowly comes back to her senses as she hears a soft melody through the sculpted trees around her.

Ava stands, intrigued and follows the mystical voice lingering in the air. She follows it further into the twisting maze, until she comes to the source of the enchanting voice.

She walks closer to a young girl with soft blonde curls trailing down
her back.

"Oh," she exclaims as she turns to see Ava. "You startled me-"

"I am sorry," Ava whispers backing away slightly.

"No need to be sorry," She laughs. "I tend to lose myself in song. Especially, with the frivolous task of chores at hand. My name is Delrina and you most be Ava-"

Ava smiles and nods with confusion, "how did you-"

"Know?" Delrina adds with laughter in her voice. She studies Ava briefly, her emerald eye dancing with mischief. "Well, I've never seen you before and Lord Pesterly and Sorcerer Weirdo are all a buzz about you coming."

"Lord Pesterly and Sorcerer Weirdo?" Ava repeats as Delrina laughs.

"For shame!" She giggles. "If they heard me telling you their nicknames, they would hold my singing lessons as punishment-" Delrina pauses briefly as Ava smiles. "Lord Pierson and Lord Weirs have been talking about your arrival for days now."

"Why do you call-"

"You shall see!" Delrina grins as she glances towards the main temple. "Have you been inside?"

"No-" Ava sighs as she closes her eyes briefly.

"Do not be afraid-" Delrina whispers as she takes her hand and squeezes it, reassuringly. "Besides, I shall be by your side."

Ava smiles as she squeezes her hand back. Delrina guides her back through the maze.

"Ready?" Delrina asks as Ava pulls her hand from her graps and backs away.

"No, Rina-" Ava whispers. "I am not ready, I can not do this-"

Ava's tears sting as she turns and runs away, leaving Delrina speechless. She stares at her retreating form, her heart breaking in sympathy for her new found kindred spirit.

~

Leti tries to concentrate on his studies at hand, when he looks up from his books. He pauses as his gaze lands on a young maiden before him.

His heart aches as he notices the tears glistening in her eyes and he immediately feels guilty for the sinful thoughts that flicker through his mind.

He quickly gathers up his things, preparing to leave her be- but, her echoing sobs prevent him form doing so. He places his stuff back down and he goes to her. Without a word, he wraps his arms around her.

She gasps at his tender touch and she gazes up into his matching blue eyes. She trembles slightly as he dries the tears from her eyes and pulls her closer to him.

She sighs feeling the warm comfort of his arms. She feels as a sense of calm serenity surround them.

"Ava!" Delrina calls out as she rushes to them.

"Ava?" he whispers as he pulls away and studies the beautiful girl in his arms. "The future queen?" He questions as she nods. "Oh," he replies as his developing feelings crash down around him.

Muse #3-- Each fic must contain this line of dialogue and it must be
spoken by a female character:

"Oh, I can't believe it's so big!" ~~> I am adding a little variation to this one- either of these are acceptable for the word "big" - "large or grand"- and you may change "can't" to "can not". But that's it!

~3~

"There you are!" A booming voice echoes across the gardens. Ava, Delrina, and Leti glance towards the voice, Lord Weirs.

Ava studies him as he stands before them in long flowing gowns. His skin glowing softly in the fading light.

"Ava, my child-" he states firmly, walking closer to them. "We were starting to worry about you."

"I just arrived," she replies as he takes her hand and leads her away from the others.

"Very well-" he sighs as he looks at his students. "I see that you have met our top students."

"Yes," Ava replies as she smiles at Delrina and Leti.

"This way," Lord Weirs commands as Ava glances at the others and they both smile in response, giving her their silent encouragement to follow him. She nods, smiling weekly at them before she follows him in silence.

"These are the main gardens- often referred to as the enchanted gardens. They lead into the main temple-" His voice trails off as he continues to explain, giving her a tour of the estates.

The sunsets as they round up the tour, "and these shall be your chambers." He announces as they stop in front of a pair of large ornate door.

"Thank you-" she replies as he excuses himself leaving her to tend to her thoughts.

She sighs and walks out to the balcony. She takes a deep breath as her eyes rest on the outlines of the castle, the place that she shall soon call home.

"Oh, I can not believe it is so grand," she whispers in awe as she studies the castle.

~

He looks out the window and his gaze rests on the steeple of the temple. He sighs, wondering if he had made the right choice.

"Ava," he states softly.

"Ava again?"

He turns quickly, his gaze locking with his sisters, "Vilandra-"

"Zan," she groans. "If you mention that weak, helpless-"

"Londra!" He snaps as she rolls her eyes in response. "She is to be my wife, my queen."

"But, she is not your first choice-" She adds, a smile curling up at her lips as he body stiffens and he stares off into the distance. "Or have you forgotten about your precious, Lyla?"

"Get out!" He cries his eyes flashing with anger.

"If you wish, your majesty," she replies dryly as their gazes lock. The tension around them escalating, as they continue to challenge each other.

"Zan?" a voice calls out breaking their heated gaze.

Zan relaxes at the sound of his voice, his second. "Rath-"

"Am I interpreting something?" He questions as he steps in between them, trying to size up the situation at hand.

"Not at all," Vilandra replies sharply looking once more at
Zan. "Good night, dear brother-"

"Good night," Zan whispers harshly as she turns and leaves. "I do not know what to do with her! She has been so distant and cold."

"More like bitchy," Rath offers as Zan sighs.

"Why did everything have to change?" Zan whispers. "A year ago, everything was so different-"

"And Lyla was alive."

Zan stiffens as her name lingers in the air, "yes. And I thought nothing could ever touch me- I was just a boy."

"Tragedy forces you to grow up-"

"In one night, I lost my true love, my sister, and my best friend-"

"What about me?" Rath teases as he tries to lighten the mood.

"You are the brother, that I never had-" Zan whispers. "I do not think I could have survived without your friendship- Londra has pushed me away. We are always at odds, she is more like a stranger to me then a sister and Leti-" Zan sighs as he closes his eyes. "Leti hates me, he blames me for everything."

"It was not your fault-" Rath protests.

"But, I should have protected her! She was my love, my life-" Zan cries. "Leti, has every right to blame me for his sisters death."

Zan curses to himself as he braces himself against the balcony as a silence overcomes them.

Rath notices Zan looking towards the temple with hope in his
eyes. "Ava," Rath whispers to himself and gazes at Zan. "You have found Ava-"

"Yes, and maybe with her at my side, I can be the King I am suppose to be."

Muse #4 September 17, 2002 - September 30, 2002

All of these words must be used in the Muse- any order, but the exact
word.

Nightfall - Cerulean - Sand - Warning

~4~

The soft hues of nightfall encompasses the temple as the day starts to come to an end. The colors streak across the sky as Delrina walks towards the temple.

She stops as she catches a glimpse of a figure standing beside the grand window.

"Leti?" She questions as she walks closer to him.

Leit continues to look through the window lost in thought. He does not even hear her sneaking up behind him and looking over his shoulder through the tinted glass.

She can not help but grin as she sees the object of his admiration, Ava. She glances at Ava sitting in the room engrossed in her studies and looks back at Leti's soft cerulean eyes.

"You like her-" she whispers as Leti jumps in response.

"What?" He cries as he turns to see her. "Rina! Must you sneak up on everyone?"

"You are changing the subject at hand," she pouts as she notices a faint blush creeping up his face. "You like her- I knew it!"

"Rina, please-" he whispers harshly as he crosses to her and escorts her away from the window.

"Leti!" She cries as they come to the beginning of the garden maze. "You must tell her-"

"I can not," he sighs as he turns away from her and disappears into the maze.

"Why not?" She calls after him as she follows him deeper into the maze.

"Why not?" He repeats and stops in his tracks. "She is to be our queen-"

"So?" Rina rolls her eyes in response. "She is not our queen, yet."

"It is out of the question. Zan-"

"Zan?" She repeats. "I thought you hated Zan-"

"I do. I did-" Leti sighs. "I do not know."

"He is coming tonight-"

Leti nods as he gazes up at to the sky, his emotions running rampant. "Is he?" He whispers as he thoughts travel back to the night that changed his life.

"What happened?" She inquires as she studies the anguish look on his face. "I have heard so many things-"

"We were at Tavi's peak," Leti sighs as he closed his eyes recalling the night with vivid clarity. "I can still feel the soft sand at my toes, the soft breeze against my body. It was a beautiful night-"

"We?" Delrina questions as he opens his eyes and looks towards her.

"Everyone of royal blood was there that night-" He replies with tears in his eyes. "The royal family of Rains was to announce the engagement of his son Zan to Khlyla de Trowns. Also known as Lyla, my sister-"

"Your twin sister-" Delrina adds as Leti shakes his head.

"Not exactly," Leti explains. "I share my birth with my sister Lyla and my brother Khivar-"

"The Trown Triplets?!" Delrina squeals. "Oh, my-" She pauses as she gazes at Leti. "You are Khyleti."

"Yes-"

"You are one of the legendary keys of Antar!"

"Shh-" Leti groans as Delrina tries to hide her excitement.

"It is rumored that the triplets or rather the keys of Antar, will posses more power then the high priest himself!"

"It is only a legend-"

"Only a legend?" She gasps as she rolls her eyes. "There will come a time when the chosen family will be blessed with triplets. Their power will rival all that have come before them. The first born will be blessed with the powers to lead a nation, the second born will be the love and heart of our land, and the third will- the third will-" Delrina stops and looks towards Leti.

"It does not matter-" Leti grumbles. "I am certainly no ruler and Lyla is no longer the heart of our land. It is null and void. It was only a legend, nothing more-"

"Leti!" She sighs as she crosses her arms. "How can you say that?"

"My sister was killed," Leti replies dryly. "And it was all his fault."

"Zan?" Delrina offers.

"It was an attempt on his life. He had threatening letters- it was a warning that he blatantly ignored."

"How was he to know?"

"He didn't even attempt to heal her-" Leti gasps his voice trembling with tears. "He had the power to heal her and he did not. He just stood there-"

"Was he to risk his life and the lives of his family to save her?"

"Yes-"

Their conversation came to a sudden halt as the temple bells rang, announcing the arrival of their future king.

"We should go-" Leti replies as he turns back to the temple. Delrina follows close behind, with even more questions racing in her head.

Muse #5  September 30, 2002 - October 14, 2002
We're going to go with a set of words again for this challenge-but
don't expect to get off so easy for the next one!
Stream - Armor - Flourish - Permission

~5~

A flourish of bells ring as Zan steps out of the carriage. He stares up at the steeple and turns, glaring at Rath.

"I wanted to keep a low profile," Zan groans. "Want is Ava to think?"

"That you are to be king," he replies firmly. "You can not hide who you are-"

"I wish I could," Zan sighs as he notices Ava standing at the top of the staircase and smiles.

Zan walks up to her and ignores the pleas and the requests of the high priests standing at her side. "Good evening, Ava-"

"Good evening, Zan." She replies with a smile and a courtesy.

"No, need to bow to me-" he laughs as he takes her hand and gazes into her eyes.

Ava relaxes at his words and tender touch, "it is proper to greet-"

"Nonsense," Zan grins. "You are to be my equal, my bride."

Rath rolls his eyes and follows close behind them, as his duty calls for. He stops in his tracks, deciding to give them a few minutes alone.

He sighs and turns around quickly, bumping into someone in an emerald cloak.

"Do you always bump into people?" She replies her eyes blazing as bright as her cloak.

"You need to watch where you are going," he replies icily as she glares at him.

"Me?" She gasps. "What about you?"

He stares at her not knowing what to say, no one has ever spoken to him like this before. "Do you know how I am?"

"Am I supposed to be scared?" She counters as her heart continues to race.

"I am Lord Rath, second in command to the future king-"

"So?" She replies raising her eyebrows at him, challenging him to continue.

"So?" He repeats as his gaze meets hers. He runs his hands through his hair in frustration, as a smile curls at her lips.

"He is not the king, yet-" she continues as he rolls his eyes.

"A technicality at most, I am still a member of the royal family-"

"And that gives you permission to bump into people?" She questions as she advances towards him.

"Yes-" he answers quickly as she gasps in horror. "I mean, no-"

Leti smiles as he continues to watch their heated interaction with interest. He knew that there was more then meets the eye.  "Am I interrupting?" Leti questions as he steps forward.

"Leti-" Rina cries as she turns to him. "He is so rude!"

Leti grins at her exasperated sigh as she glares at Rath and turns away.

"What is her problem?" Rath mumbles to himself as he throws his hands in the air and turns to Leti. "Who is she?"

"She is Lady Delrina de Wintre," Leti replies as they study each other.

"It has been a long time-" Rath replies after a short pause.

"It has," Leti sighs as he offers a hand. Rath takes his hand and they embrace as old friends.

"Zan will be happy-" Rath begins as he notices Leti tensing up at his name.

"It seems he has moved on-" Leti replies dryly as Rath shakes his head.

"It is for the best," Rath states as Leti walks towards their soft voices coming from the room across from them.

"Is it?" Leti questions as he opens the door and looks in at Ava and Zan.

He looks nervously at the closeness between them and strains to hear their conversation.  "There is a stream that cuts-" Zan voice trails off as he notices Leti and Rath at the door.  "Leti-"

"Zan," Leti replies dryly, the tension between them rising.

"We should be going," Rath replies quickly. "We do not want them to send the guards out-"

"And dirty their new armor?" Leti adds as his gaze locks with Zan's. "We would not want that-"

Ava steps between them, breaking there heated gaze. "What has happened?"

Leti blinks and focuses on her innocent blue eyes. He sighs as he tries to refocus his thoughts. "It is in the past-" he replies as his gaze rests once more on Zan before he turns to leave.

"Leti," Zan calls after him. "I did all that I could-"

Leti freezes and turns back to him. "Then why is she dead?"

"Damn it, Leti-" Zan curses. "It was not my fault."

"Please-" Leti snaps as Rath pulls Ava away from them. The air around them snapping with electricity.

Ava gasps as the power around Leti circles around him in a fury of colors.  "I do not understand," she whispers to Rath as he shakes his head.

"I have been waiting for this-" he whispers as he watches them intently. "To much unsaid resentment and anger has passed between them."

"It was not my fault," Zan repeats firmly. "Strike me. Kill me.  Do what you need to do-"

With a blinding flash of light, Leti throws Zan against the wall and disappears.

"Zan!" Rath and Ava call out as they rush towards him.

Zan sits up and stares up them. "Where is he?"

"He teleported-" Rath replies as he helps him up.

"Are you ok?" Ava questions as she touches his face tenderly.

"I am fine-" he sighs.

"He could have killed you-" Rath begins as Zan raises his hand, silencing him.

"He would never kill me," Zan explains. "If he killed me then he would be King, and that is his living nightmare-"

Muse #6 October 14, 2002- October 28, 2002

Fear. The theme is fear- Simple as that. I want to feel the fear. Fear of what? Doesn't matter as long as it's FEAR!!

~6~

Leti paces the length of his chamber as his thoughts and fears raced. "What have I done?" He questions out loud, his voice echoing softly.

Leti sighs and he leans against the window frame. He turns slightly catching a glimpse of Ava saying good bye to their future king. His jealousy spirals as he watches Ava lean in and brush a simple kiss on the cheek of his lost friend.

"Why?" Leti cries in anguish as he pounds his fist against the window frame. He takes a deep breath, trying to focus his jealousy elsewhere.

He turns away from the window and goes to his desk. He picks up an old picture and gazes at the faces of the past. "Lyla-" he whispers as he traces his fingertips over the pretty brunette.

"Leti?"

He quickly places the picture on the desk and turns towards the door. His anguished thoughts disappear as he looks into her eyes, "Ava."

"May I come in?" She questions as she stands in the door frame.

"Yes, please do-" he smiles as she steps into the room.

"I want to understand," she replies as her gaze lingers around the room before settling on him.

Leti sighs and looks away from her piercing blue eyes. "Ava-"

"Please, Leti-" she whispers as she takes a step closer to him. "What is it that you are afraid of?"

He turns away from her and crosses to the widow. He braces himself against the window as his fears linger to the surface.

"Leti?" She questions as she takes a deep breathe and crosses to him. "Zan told me to ask you- he said that it was not his place to tell."

"Oh, did he?" Leti snaps as Ava stiffens at the tone of his voice.

"Tell me?" She manages to reply as she places her hand on his.

Leti focuses on the warmth of her skin and takes a deep breath. "You must have heard about the murder-" he whispers.

"There were stories," she replies. "Is it true? Are you the Khyleti Trown?"

"Yes," he sighs in defeat.

"There shall come a time when the chosen family of Antar will be blessed with triplets. Their power shall rival all that have come before them. The first born shall be blessed with the powers to lead a nation and rule our land into the next millennium. The second born shall be the heart of our land, promoting love and peace. And the third born shall possess the power to destroy the races-"

"You have been taught well," Leti replies bitterly as her words echo in his ears, repeating the pain of his past and possible future.

"The legend of the triplets has been passed down by the generations before us-"

"It has to be only a myth. A legend at most-" Leti whispers his voice wavering. "It has to be."

"What are you afraid of?" She questions softly as she notices tears in his eyes. "It most be tough knowing your sibling can cause the destruction of our people," Ava whispers as she places a hand on his chest.

Leti gazes into her innocent eyes as her words echo in his mind and heart, torturing him further. "I think you should go-" he manages to reply his voice wavering with unspent tears.

"Leti-" she pleads. "Let me help you."

"You don't understand-" He replies as he blinks back tears. "The third born shall possess the power to destroy the races-"

"I know the legend, everyone knows that Khivar is the third born-" Ava replies as she notices a flicker of fear in his eyes.

"No, he is not-" Leti admits as Ava pales. "I am."

Ava steps back, unsure of his words. "What?" She gasps as a wave of fear engulfs her.

"I am the third born-" he repeats weakly, admitting for the first time his fate. The secret that his family had always tried to protect.

MUSE #7 - A set of words must be used in any order throughout the fic.
They are: Saliva - Leather - Fur - Masquerade

~7~

Ava gazes at Leti as she notices tears in his eyes. "Oh, Leti-" she whispers as she wraps her arms around him. He tenses slightly at her touch and then slowly relaxes, feeling safe in her arms.

"It was all a masquerade-" he explains softly. "My parents thought that if everyone thought I was someone else, that it would break the legend. That I alone would not hurt, or destroy the people of our lands."

Ava rubs his back softly, "you can not fight your destiny."

Leti sighs and gazes into her eyes, "I shall fight it- I have to."

"Then you must make peace with Zan," she whispers as he begins to pull away.

"I do not know if I can," he replies as she takes his hands in hers.

"When you make peace with him, you shall bring your people closer together and the legend shall be broken- no one has to know." Ava thinks aloud as Leti admires her innocence.

"If you are by my side, I shall try-" he states softly as he takes a step closer to her. "Would you help your king?"

"Of course," she smiles as he reaches out his hand and softly cups her face.

A flicker of desire ignites between them as their gaze heats with a slow passion. A forbidden passion that has been haunting them since their first meeting-

Without another word, he lowers his hand and travels down her neck. She reaches out to him and wraps her arms around hue chest as his hands linger around her waist. He pulls her tight against his body and they hold each other tight.

He leans in, his lips grazing against hers-

"Leti," she groans with frustration as he pauses.

"Ava," he mumbles against her lips as he kisses her softly.

~

"Vilandra?" Khivar questions as he notices the hauntingly beautiful women enter his chambers. "What are you doing here?"

She glances around the room and runs her hand along the fur lined chair. "Just changing the course of history," She replies with a grin. "I have a secret."

"Do you?" He laughs as she crosses to him. "Care to share?"

"Perhaps," she smiles. "Will you make me your Queen?"

Khivar laughs at her remark, "you know that will not happen."

"When my brother is out of the way," she smirks. "You are to be King-"

"How do you know that?" He snaps as she grins.

"I have my ways," she laughs.

"Vilandra-" he sighs. "You are playing with fire."

"And you are playing with fate," she snaps.

"You do not know what you are talking about-" he states firmly as she pulls at his leather pants.

"If you say so," she whispers as she pulls him against her body.

"Stop these games," he groans as his body responds to her sinful touch.

"But," she pouts. "You did not guess my secret."

He pushes her away, "leave me be-"

"No," she cries. "You are the key and I shall have my crown."

"I do not want you-" Khivar cries out as she stares at him. "I shall never want you."

"Never, say never-" she threatens as her eyes locks with his.

"For as long as I live," he states firmly. "I shall never want you as my Queen."

Vilondra gasps at his words, her anger rising. She spits at him in anger and he stares blankly at her as he wipes her saliva off his face.

He stands strong as she turns around and leaves him alone. He sighs as he glances at the picture on his desk.

He studies the picture of himself and his siblings. "The Trown Triplets are no more, but we are still haunted by the legend." He smiles, recalling the better and more fruitful days of their past. "Lyla, you may be right after all. You knew our destiny- you even predicted your death."

~*~

November 11- November 25

The theme is character death. That's right, I want you to kill someone off. I know people have a lot of problems with character death, so this could be a true challenge.

~8~

Ava pulls away from Leti, gasping for air. "You must talk to him-"

Leti groans in reply as he pulls her back into his arms, "must I?"

"You must make peace with Zan, you must break the curse of the legend-" she whispers against his lips as she kisses his lips softly.

He sighs as he breaks their kiss, "yes-"

"Tomorrow?" She questions as she rubs his chest.

"Yes," he whispers in reply as she smiles in response.

~

Zan stares out the window in deep reflection. His thoughts drifting back to the one day that changed his life forever.

Leti studies him from the doorway and contemplates the promise he made Ava earlier. "For you," he whispers under his breath as Zan turns to him.

"Leti?" Zan questions. "What are you-"

"I have come to make peace," he replies quickly.

"I would like that," Zan smiles as he crosses over to him.

Leti offers his hand and Zan takes it, with a simple shake they are transferred back into time- to the night they both try to forget.

The rosy hues of twilight lighten the darkening sky. Friends and family look up to the couple on the raised stage.

Zan kisses her hand and gazes lovingly at Lyla. She laughs and raises her glass, "to my love, my King-"

"To my love, my Queen-" Zan whispers, raising his glass to hers.

"To Zan and Lyla," Leti grins as he raises his glass to theirs.

"A match made in heaven," Khivar adds as everyone in their presence raises their glass.

Lyla gazes at Zan as they clink their glasses together and take a sips of the rose liquor.

"I love you," Zan sighs as he wraps his arms around her and kisses her softly.

"Enough with the kissing," Leti laughs as Lyla blushes.

"He is to be my husband," Lyla smiles. "Get used to it."

"Our baby sister is getting married!" Khivar sighs as he pulls her away from Zan's arms.

Zan laughs as he watches the love of his life interact with her brothers.

"I am not a baby!" Lyla pouts. "After all, I am five minutes older then you-" she laughs as she points at her brothers.

"You are not older then both of us," Leti laughs.

"I am only the middle child of two boorish brothers," Lyla laughs as Zan takes her in his arms.

"Boorish indeed," Zan adds with a smirk.

Lyla glances up at the sky and frowns. "We should go," Lyla whispers.

"But, the night has barely begun-" Zan laughs as she looks towards Khivar with fear in her eyes.

"Yes, I know my love." Lyla sighs as she pulls herself away and kisses his hand, "I am afraid."

"Do not be silly my love," Zan sighs. "They were only threats."

"It is more then that," she insists as she turns to her brothers.

"Khlyla," a voice calls as she looks towards her mother.

"Yes, mother?" she questions as she leaves the safe haven of her brothers and crosses to her.

"Khlyla, my darling this is Lady Danela-" her mother smiles as Lyla nods. "She has a daughter your age."

"Have I met her?" Lyla questions as Lady Danela shakes her head.

"I am afraid not," she replies. "Her father is very protective."

Lyla nods in understanding as a sharp whistle rings through the air. Everyone glances up to the skies as Lyla closes her eyes.

"The time has come," she whispers as the piercing metal embeds into her flesh. She blinks and her voice fails her as she tries to cry out in pain.

"Lyla!" Leti and Khivar cry out as they watch in horror as their sister falls to the ground.

Zan stands frozen in his spot as her brothers rush to her side and inspect her wound.

"Zan," Leti cries as they look to him expectantly.

Another sharp whistle rings through the air and Zan raises a shield protecting everyone from the second rain of arrows.

"The time has come," Lyla moans as Khivar holds pressure against her wound.

"No," Khivar groans.

"Zan," Leti snaps as Zan drops the shield and crosses over to them. "You are the only healer-"

"Lyla?" Zan whispers, tears springing to his eyes.

"Zan," she whispers in reply as he places his hand on her wound.

"I need you to look at me," Zan cries as Lyla blinks up at him and then closes her eyes.

"Lyla!" Zan cries as he feels the last breath leave her body. "No!"

Zan buries his head into her long silken hair and after he sheds his tears he looks up at the people around him.

Leti cries out in pain as he stumbles back from Zan. He blinks as the past memories dissolve around him.

"You could have saved her," Leti barks as he glares at him.

"It was not in my hands to save her," Zan whispers. "The legend-"

"The legend?" Leti cries as he stares at him. "Do not blame your cowardness on the legend-"

"I loved her-" Zan cries in response.

"You loved her so much, that you already have another queen to take her place?"

"Get out!" Zan shouts his temper flaring.

"I do not know what I was thinking," Leti groans. "Making peace with
you-"

Leti and Zan step up to each other, the electricity raging around
them.

"When will you two stop these petty fights?" A voice cried snapping them out of there staring fight.

"Khivar?" Leti questions surprised at seeing his brother. "What are you doing here?"

"I could ask you the same," Khivar grins as he crosses to his brother and they embrace.

"I came to make peace," Leti sighs as he glances at Zan.

"And we still can," Zan whispers. "And you, Khivar? Why are you here?"

"Vilondra," Khivar replies as Zan sighs in response.

"What has she done?" Zan groans. "Never mind- I do not care to know."

"You do not?" Khivar questions. "Even if she may be the cause of your downfall?"

Zan shakes his head, "my sister shall not be downfall. According to the legend, it shall be you and your family."

Khivar and Leti share a glance and turn and leave the king to be.

"I hate him!" Leti cries as his brother watches him. "How could I have ever been friends to that selfish brat?"

"Everything is falling into place," Khivar whispers. "Do you not see it?"

Leti sighs, "that is what I am afraid of."

Delrina curls up in front of the crackling fire to read her book. She scans the worn pages and sighs, not wanting to pursue her studies. She glances up as she hears the door open and watches as Ava enters the room with a letter, sealed with the royal crest, in her hands.

"News from the palace?" She inquires as Ava nods in response.

"I am afraid to open it," Ava whispers as she looks up at her friend expectantly.

"I am here for you," she replies softly, crossing over to her.

Ava smiles warmly at her, "thank you-"

"Well?" Delrina laughs as Ava stares blankly at the letter.

Ava takes a deep breath and breaks the seal. She opens the letter and reads the simple note, "they want me to come and live at the palace-"

"They do?" Delrina gasps. "How exciting- even though I hear the Ice princess is even more of an Icy bitch these days. And Rath! He is so rude-" her voice trails off as she notices Ava staring blankly at the fancy parchment. "Ava?"

"I am not ready," she sniffs.

"Ava?" Delrina questions as she notices the tears in her friends blue eyes.

"I am not ready to be his queen," she whispers her voice shaking as tears run down her face.

"Oh, Ava!" Delrina sighs as he wraps her arms around her friend. "Can I do anything for you?"

"Oh, Rina what ever am I going to do with out you?" Ava wonders as she wipes away her tears.

"It can not be that bad," she reasons as Ava stares at her. "Really? How bad can it be?"

"I do not know," Ava sighs as she studies her friend. "Like eating Lady Marlins cooking-"

"Ew!" Rina cries as they both laugh. "Anything is better then that!"

"Maybe," Ava agrees.

"Think about it! No more studying, servants to boss around-"

"Rina!" Ava gasps as her eyes light up.

"What?" she questions as Ava grins.

"Come with me!"

"Come with you?" She repeats as Ava nods in reply. "I do not know-"

"Please?" Ava begs. "It will be so much fun if you were there! You are my closest friend. Every queen must have a lady in waiting, her trusted advisor-"

"Ava," Rina sighs as Ava takes her hand and drags her over to the window.

"Look at it," Ava whispers as she points to the far off palace. "We could live there-"

"I do not know-" she sighs once more as Ava turns to her.

"Please!?"

"Ava-" she begins as Ava looks down at her feet.

"Very well-" she sniffs. "I shall go alone and die of boredom."

"Then I better go," Delrina laughs. "I can not be at fault for my queen's death!"

"Oh, Rina!!" Ava cries as she throws her arms around her friend. "How ever will I think you?"

"I shall think about it," Rina smiles as Ava laughs in response.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you-" Ava gushes.

"Is that all?" Delrina grins as Ava laughs.

"I love you-" she sighs. "You are the best."

"I know-" Rina smirks as Ava hits her playfully on her arm.

"You are not that good-" Ava grins as they laugh and run off to their rooms to prepare for their trip to the palace.

"Rath?" Vilondra whispers as she wraps her arms around him. He tenses at her touch and glares at her.

"What do you want?" He questions as she runs her hands down his chest.

"Is that any way to treat your wife to be?" She snaps as he stares at her and pushes her away from him.

"We all know that our engagement is purely political," he responds dryly. "I do not love you, and I doubt that you even care about me-"

"You should know better, my love-" she replies as she presses her body against his.

"Should I?" He snaps as she pulls away from him. "Did you not proclaim your love earlier this week to Khivar?"

She stares at him, feeling her anger rising. "You followed me?"

Rath snorts in reply, "what do you think?"

"Do not cross me-" she warns him. "I will get what I want!" She snaps at him and turns away.

He stares after her and sighs, knowing the worst was yet to come.
