The persistent banging on the door woke Michael from a deep sleep. He growled as he turned in bed, ignoring the knocking at his door.

He sat up in bed momentarily as the banging ceased and he closed his eyes with relief. He settled back into his bed and pulled the covers up, determined to get some more sleep before he had to get up in the morning for work.

A flickering touch on his arm put him in full alert and he shot up in bed, raising his hand to fire an energy bolt if needed.

"Michael!" The intruder cried out to him as he tried to focus his gaze at the shadowy figure in front of him.

"Tess? What the hell are you doing here?" He snapped, lowering his hand and glaring at her. "Well?"

"I need to talk to you," she began as he continued to stare at her.

"How did you get in?" He questioned as she raised her hand and wiggled her fingers. "Oh, convenient."

"Michael," she sighed as she reached a hand out to him and he pushed her hand away, taking a moment to glance over at the clock.

"It's three am!?" He growled. "What's so god damn important that you had to barge in here at three am?"

"I kissed Max," she replied softly as he rolled his eyes in response.

"Spare me the details," he groaned. "Out. Now."

"No, you don't understand," she insisted. "It was our first kiss."

"Huh? I thought you guys kissed plenty."

"Not exactly," she mumbled more to herself.

"Tess?"

"Tonight was our first kiss, the others were mindwarps."

"What?" He cried. "You're not supposed to do that!"

"I know," Tess sighed. "But, Nesado said that-"

"I don't care. What does this have to do with me?"

"Idon'tthinkMaxistheKing," she rushed together as Michael blinked at her.

"Max is what?" He questioned, trying to understand her treatment.

"I don't think Max is the King," Tess repeated slowly as Michael dropped his gaze from her.

Michael paused as his thoughts raced in his mind. "It can't be," he replied after a long pause. "I think you're delusional."

"No," Tess cried. "You must listen to me!"

"You have no proof."

"I have proof," she refuted. "I had a true kiss."

"A kiss?" Michael laughed.

"Don't you see," she whispered as tears pooled in her eyes. "The kiss didn't open anything- it didn't reopen our past link!"

"Maybe, that's because of Liz." Michael shot back as Tess gasped.

"No," she replied firmly. "On Antar-"

"We’re on Earth. Everything's null and void, including this so called kiss."

"You’re wrong." Tess moaned as she tried to blink back her tears. "How can you be my king?"

"Whoa," Michael gasped. "What?"

"That's why I'm here," she whispered. "To see if-"

"To see if I was king?" Michael whispered. "But, the hologram-"

"The hologram told us that her son was king," she explained. "She didn’t say, Max you are my son and the king."

"But, the dreams?"

"Mindwarps."

"What?"

"Sorry, I thought I had no choice. Nesado was positive Max was the king."

"And now?"

"I don't think so," Tess sighed. "What if the Evans, found you and Isabel? Wouldn't we think then that you were king?"

"What ifs will get you no where."

"Didn't you say you felt like she was your sister?"

"Ok," he groaned.

"Ok?" Tess repeated with a smile playing at her lips.

"I still think you're wrong," he whispered.

"Then prove me wrong," Tess smiled. "Kiss me."

"I'm kinda with Maria," he replied backing away from her advancement.

"And I'm kinda with Kyle," she smiled. "It is only a small kiss."

"Just a kiss?" Michael repeated as he sat down on the bed and she sat down beside him.

"A simple kiss," she whispered breathlessly as he leaned in to kiss her.

The air around them buzzed with electricity as his lips touched hers. Time stopped as images of their past life flashed before them. The flashes intensified as their kiss deepened.

Their lungs ached for air as they managed to pull apart, only for them to take a deep breathe and kiss once more. He pulled her closer to him, needing to feel her, wanting only her. Their hands roamed and explored their bodies, pulling off their clothes in an almost primal need, seeking the completion they've had craved all their lives.

The truth was in a kiss.
