Author's Note Takes place after season 3 of Stargate SG-1 and season 1 of Roswell.

General Hammond looked across the table at the expectant faces of his number one team, SG-1. He took a second to glance over the briefing once more before he sighed, clasping his hands in front of him. "At 0300 hours we had an incoming single that we believe is a distress single from P4A-268."

"P4A-268?" Major Samantha Carter repeated her brow furrowing slightly in concentration. "But, we weren't able to establish a connection with it in earlier trials."

"Nonetheless, we received a cryptic message from them this morning." General Hammond continued as he shifted through his files in front of him. "Dr. Jackson, I'd like your translating skills put to work here." He began as he pushed a file across the table to him. "So far, all that we have is what we believe to be the name of the planet, Antar."

Dr. Daniel Jackson nodded and began looking through the papers. "It's a very simplistic form of ancient.” He stated as his fingers ran over the foreign language. "Um, interesting- there seems to be an infusion or rather an integration of another language. There are a few symbols that I've never seen."

"Very good," the General commented as he rubbed his hands together. "You have until 1800 to further evaluate the message. In the meantime, we'll be sending out the M.A.L.P. for more information."

"So, you want us to go and say hi?" Colonel Jack O'Neill began as he shifted in his seat, turning toward Teal'c. "Heard anything about Antar?"

"Indeed." Teal'c replied harshly.

"I'll take that as a bad thing," O'Neill sighed as everyone focused there attention on to Teal'c.

"Antar has been a strong hold for some of the minor System Lords," Teal'c growled. "K'var is one that is not to be crossed."

"They are requesting help in finding something," Daniel interrupted as he glanced back down to the papers before him. "Er, something about a royal four, I believe."

"I do not think it is advisable to engage in further contact with Antar." Teal'c commented dryly as he glanced between General Hammond and Colonel O'Neill.

"Your objection is duly noted," the General nodded as he gathered up his files. "We will reconvene at 1800. Dismissed."

Sam compiled the data retrieved from the M.A.L.P. and made her way back to the briefing room. "Sorry, I'm late sirs," she stated quickly as she sat down.

"No worries, Carter," Jack shrugged as he waved his arms around the room. "Dannyboy is still off wondering the halls."

Sam quickly glanced around the room and noticed that Teal'c and Daniel were missing. "Where's Teal'c?" She questioned as he entered the room.

"I am here MajorCarter," he stated as he crossed over and took his seat. "I was working with DanielJackson with the translation; he said he would be here shortly."

"Very well," General Hammond nodded as he turned his attention to Sam. "Major, do you have the readings from the M.A.L.P?"

"Yes, sir." She nodded as she handed out a copy of the readings to the General and her team members. "The preliminary data shows that Antar's atmosphere is very compatible to Earth's."

"So, we can go in with no problem then?" Jack questioned as he glanced over the papers.

"The atmosphere has a higher oxygen concentration then here on Earth, but it shouldn't hurt us," she added as she looked over at the General. "The gate seems to be housed in some ruins or what once a building. The city seems deserted, but there appears to be another city five clicks away from the Stargate."

The General opened his mouth to speak when Daniel rushed in. "Sorry, I'm late. But, I had to cross reference a few of my notes." He paused as he glanced around the room.

"And?" Jack implored as the rest of them looked to him for answers.

"The Antarians, or so I think, want our help in finding their Royal Four that they sent here via spaceship about forty years ago."

"Er, spaceship?" Jack repeated. "If they had use of a Stargate why did they use a spaceship?"

"Their Stargate was damaged and they have just recently repaired it," Daniel replied as he looked back over his team.

"They have the knowledge to fix their Stargate?" Sam inquired, her curiosity peaked. "How is that possible?"

"From their language only, I'd say that they hold more knowledge of their ancestry, the ancients, than we do." He shrugged as he glanced over his translation. "If they kept their language, they may have kept the knowledge of how the Stargate works-"

"Why now?" Jack interrupted glancing over at Teal'c's growing discomfort.

"Indeed." Teal'c added as they looked intently at Daniel.

"A communication single was set off; they had presumed that they had died in the crash."

"The crash of '47," General Hammond mused as he tapped his fingers on the table. "A trip to Area 51 may be warranted. The government still has artifacts from the crash."

"Of course they do." Jack groaned. "So, their story checks out."

"It appears so," Daniel nodded. "They're asking our help in bringing their Royal Four home."

"And who are the Royal Four?" Sam questioned as Daniel shrugged in response.

"They were a strong force against the Goa'uld; they sacrificed their lives so that they would not become hosts themselves." Teal'c added with a curt nod. "They would be great allies."

"And this K'var guy?" Jack inquired as he looked in between Daniel and Teal'c.

"There's no word of him in the message," Daniel shrugged.

"He is a Goa'uld," Teal'c replied with vehemence. "And a formidable warrior, I do not wish to do battle with him."

The General nodded, and looked over his notes. "At 0800, Tomorrow, SG-1 will make first contact with the Antarians; if they are familiar with the Ancients language and technology, then we can use them as allies."

"It's a go people," Jack added. "Now let's go, I'm famished."

* * *

SG-1 stepped out of the event horizon to be greeted by what appeared to be a young woman. She smiled at them and spoke to them in her native language.

"Hello, yes." Daniel smiled as he took a step closer to her. "Um, do you speak our language as well?"

"Yes," she nodded. "Have studied."

"Sweet." Jack grinned as he looked around them, taking in the large columns of a marble looking material. "Was this a building at one time?"

"Building? Yes." The woman stated softly, wistfully as she too looked around the rumble that once was the capital.

"Impressive," Jack whistled and the team nodded in agreement.

"You help?" The woman questioned, shifting suddenly into her own language as she continued onto the mission at hand.

"Wait," Daniel huffed as he held his hand up and the woman stopped speaking. "Okay, yes we got your message and we came here to further investigate your request to find the Royal Four."

"You got all that?" Jack asked amazement apparent in his voice.

Daniel flashed him a glare that caused Sam to giggle in spite of her position. "It is what I do Jack," he insisted. "She's speaking Ancient."

"Indeed." Teal'c agreed with a tiny grin of his own.

"Of course," Jack snorted and glanced around at his team's amused faces. "Continue on."

Daniel groaned, shaking his head as he turned his attention back to the young woman. "What may I address you as?"

"Arriyana," she smiled once more, her skin glistening in the faint light. "And you Tau'ri."

"Yes, er no." Daniel mumbled. "We are peaceful explorers from Earth. My name is Doctor Daniel Jackson," he turned and pointed to each team member respectively. "Colonel Jack O'Neill, Major Samantha Carter, and Teal'c."

Arriyana studied Teal'c for a second and then frowned. "He not Tau'ri"

"You are most observant," Teal'c preened. "I am a Jaffa warrior."

"You help Tau'ri?" She questioned, titling her head slightly.

"Indeed." Teal'c replied, inclining his head in reverence.

"Tau'ri help?" She inquired as she glanced over the team.

"That's what we are here to do." Jack nodded. "And what exactly are we doing?"

"Come with me," she smiled as she waved them forward.

"Er, Jack?" Daniel began as he glanced around the ruins and then back to his team leader. "Do you want us to follow?"

"Is it safe?" He mused as Daniel frowned.

"I believe so," he replied as he turned his gaze toward Arrieyana. "Everything seems legit, Sam?"

"Everything is reading normal," she replied with a shrug. "There are just a tad more minerals in the air then I had expected, but I'd assume that it's from the recent warfare then anything else."

"Come." Arriyana insisted, waving to the team to follow her.

"Let's move out." Jack ordered and they followed her out of the building and down the hillside.

"It's beautiful," Sam whispered to Daniel who was walking by her side and glanced back to look at Jack and Teal'c following close behind them.

"It is," Daniel agreed. "Even after all the damage, it's breathtaking- it's everything I imagined an Ancient city to look like."

"Here," Arriyana smiled as she stopped and directed the team into a newer building.

"New digs?" Jack whistled as they stepped over the threshold. "Nice."

"Help," she began once more as she pointed to a portrait of four very striking people. "Zan and Ava." She explained as she pointed to the couple in the center, her forehead furrowing slightly as she glanced at Daniel. She spoke once more in her language and Daniel nodded in understanding.

He turned to his team as she continued to speak rapidly. "This is the portrait of the Royal Four."

"Yes," Arriyana smiled with a nod.

"The couple in the middle is the King and Queen, Zan and Ava. And the woman standing slightly behind them is the King's sister, Princess Vilondra and the man to the right of Zan is Rath, his second-in-command and betrothed to Vilondra."

"And now they’re on Earth?" Sam questioned as she stepped closer to examine the portrait. "How is that possible?"

Daniel turned to Arriyana, "they die." She explained as she closed her eyes and began speaking once more in her native language.

Daniel sucked in a large breath and began telling the tale of the fated Royal Four. How they lost their battle with the System Lord K'var, and how they were reborn by the use of ancient technology and sent to Earth.

"They decided it was worth the risk to contact us when their communication devices went off." Daniel concluded and the rest stood there for a second, absorbing the information. "They had presumed that they had died since they have not had any communication since then."

"They?" Jack asked as he glanced over at Arriyana.

"We." She nodded, with a small smile. "Council," she repeated a little slower as she turned to Daniel and spoke to him.

"Arriyana is part of the high council that reigns over Antar until the Royal Four returns," Daniel interrupted. "She was picked to meet with us, since she knows the most English."

"Okay," Jack nodded as he scratched his chin. "And where is K'var now?" Jack questioned in full colonel mode.

"He gone," Arriyana replied quickly. "He search."

"He's searching for the Royal Four as well?" Daniel inquired his voice full of alarm.

Arriyana nodded quickly and began to explain quickly in her language, Daniel frowning as he tried to understand.

"Getting a little tired of waiting here." Jack groaned as he glared at Daniel and Arriyana talking rapidly.

"Jack." Daniel warned quickly, glaring at him once more before returning back to his conversation with Arriyana.

"Sir, look at this." Sam called out and Jack turned to her.

"What is it?" He asked as he crossed over to her as she continued to stare at a small replica of a Stargate.

"I believe that it may be the history or rather the instructions to the Stargates," she commented as Jack grinned.

"Sweet.” He whistled and then glanced over at Daniel. "Hey, Dannyboy, get your ass over here." Jack ordered as Daniel groaned and crossed over to him.

"What?" He questioned as Jack pointed to the writing Sam was just looking at. "Oh," Daniel gasped as his fingers traced over the lettering. "This is, I mean I think it's a manual for the Stargate."

"A manual?" Sam gushed as she stared at the writings. "Does it say anything about repairs and maintenance?"

Daniel continued to read it and the smiled brightly at Sam. "Yes, it's everything you'd ever want to know about it."

"Where's your video camera?" She inquired as she began putting down her things. "I need to take this information back with me."

"Of course," Daniel nodded as he shrugged off his pack and handed her the camera. "Oh, and make sure you get footage of the portrait and the other walls, since you know-"

"Since, I'm using the camera?" Sam grinned as she took the camera from him. "Go finish talking with Arriyana, I'll get the footage we need."

"Thank you, Sam." He smiled in return and turned back to Arriyana.

"You go find?" She questioned as she gestured to the portrait. "They come home."

Daniel nodded. "I don't see why not, but we have to talk to our leader-"

"Our leader?" Jack interrupted with a frown. "You mean Hammond?"

"Yes, Jack," Daniel groaned. "Easier to translate then the actual process it will take."

"Ah, I see," He shrugged. "What do we get it out of it?"

"Um, well." Daniel mumbled. "Good question, besides the moral factor of course."

"Of course," Jack smiled. "And this K'var guy?"

"Isn't a threat at this moment," he explained as he glanced at Arriyana. "But, as long as the Royal Four remain on Earth, Earth may be compromised."

"Teal'c," Jack groaned as he turned to him. "You said earlier that this K'var guy-"

"Is a formidable warrior," Teal'c replied dryly.

"Yeah, that's what I thought you said," Jack sighed. "Guess we'll have to go find those four."

"Thank you," Arriyana smiled. "We not have much, but we trade."

"I'm sure we'll work something out," Daniel nodded as he started to pack up his supplies.

"Move out people," Jack ordered. "We have some people to find."

The team said their goodbyes and left Arriyana with the hope that they will return with good news. The team took one more glance around the city as Daniel dialed home and the Stargate came to life. They stepped through the event horizon and traveled home.

General Hammond looked up at his team as they strolled down the ramp. "How'd it go?"

"A mission complete sir," Sam smiled as she came to a stop before him.

"Got some nice trinkets and a spiffy new alliance sir," Jack grinned as the rest of the team mingled around the gate room.

"Very good," the General smiled. "We will reconvene in the briefing room in two hours. I want reports on my desk before the briefing. Dismissed."

* * *

SG-1 and General Hammond sat around the briefing room, mulling over the new information.

"Every indication points that they may have settled in Roswell," Daniel explained to the group.

"So, we go to Roswell and look them up," Jack shrugged. "It has to be one of our easier missions."

"Not so fast, Colonel," the General snapped and Jack's grin faded. "You just can't waltz into town and ask who the aliens are and who are not."

"We have a communication device," Sam began as her fingers ran over the smooth device. "We can use it to talk to them, to bring them out."

"And we have a visual to work with," Jack grunted as he pointed to a picture of the portrait.

"That's if they aged appropriately," Sam pointed out as she looked through her papers. "According to Arriyana the DNA splicing they did may not have worked as they engineered it to do."

"But, they have Ancient technology, why wouldn't it work?" Daniel mused as he turned to Sam.

"True, in theory it should have worked splendidly," she nodded. "But, we don't know if their pods survived the crash."

"The crash," he repeated as he tapped his pencil against the table.

"Are we to go find them?" Teal'c questioned and they all glanced at General Hammond.

"Yes, for the sake of our new alliance and it may just help these people, the royal four that they aren't alone in this battle." He stated with a sigh and stood up from his chair. "It's a go, try not to scare them too badly."

"Wouldn't dream of it, General." Jack snickered.

"I'm counting on it," Hammond laughed as he left the team to discuss their new mission.

* * *

"Are we there yet?" Jack drawled from the back seat and Sam glared at him from the driver's seat.

"No, sir." She groaned as she sped up slightly.

"I'm hungry," Jack announced as he sat up a little straighter and glanced out the window.

"Did you not eat-" Teal'c began as Jack rolled his eyes in response.

"Youbetcha," He grinned, slapping his belly. "But that was over two hours ago."

"We will be there in a few minutes, sir." Sam stated, grumbling as she shook her head.

"Can you remind me whose idea it was to drive again?" Daniel asked from the passenger seat, stealing a glance at Sam. "Oh, yes, it was you Jack."

"Teal'c wanted the full adventure of a road trip." Jack grinned as he turned to Teal'c beside him. "Having fun, big guy?"

"Indeed." He replied a small smile tugging at his lips.

"See, he likes it." Jack chuckled as he glanced over at the sign welcoming them into Roswell. "So, still hungry here."

"We'll stop off at a nice diner and check out the local as we eat." Daniel commented as he looked through a, 'Welcome to Roswell' guide. "Oh, this Crashdown Café sounds like a nice little place to eat."

"Does it have food?" Jack questioned and Daniel glared back at him.

"Does it have food?" Daniel repeated, rolling his eyes. "Of course it has food."

"Carter, takes us to the Crashdown," Jack smirked as Sam nodded in reply, glancing over to Daniel for directions.

* * *

"This is, um, nice." Daniel grinned as he looked around the café. "Colorful."

"More like tacky," Jack snickered as he sat down in an empty booth.

"It's interesting, unique," Sam smiled, glancing around as she sat down beside Jack.

"Thor would be insulted," Jack grumbled as the rest of the team took their seats opposite them.

"Without a doubt," Teal'c agreed, pulling his cap further down on his head.

"Welcome to the Crashdown," their waitress smiled as she crossed over to them, holding the menus in her hand. "I'm guessing this is your first time here."

"Is it that obvious?" Daniel chuckled as he glanced around at his team. "We are just traveling though, looking for some old friends."

"I hope you enjoy your time here," she replied with a bright smile, placing the menu's on the table. "My name's Maria and I'll be your server today."

"Sweet, Maria." Jack grinned, making their waitress blush. "What do you recommend?"

"Our biggest seller and my personal favorite is the Will Smith Burger, Saturn Rings, and Alien blast," she rattled off as she pulled out her order pad. "So, what can I get you?"

"That sounds great, I'll have that." Jack nodded, rubbing his hands together. "They'll all have the same." He added quickly.

Maria eyes widened slightly as she glanced around at the others. "Everyone?"

"I'd prefer the Space fries instead of the rings," Sam stated, shaking her head.

"As would I," Teal'c added with a faint smile.

"Okay," Maria nodded. "I have four Will Smith burgers- two with rings, two with fries and four Alien blasts. Will that be all?"

"For now," Jack winked and Maria giggled as she nodded and turned away from the table.

"You're old enough to be her father," Daniel drawled as he stared at Jack.

"Jealous?" Jack baited as Sam rolled her eyes at the two.

"Boys," Sam groaned. "We are here on a mission."

"Yes, a mission. Of course." Jack nodded, a smirk playing at this lips.

They lapsed into a comfortable silence as Maria brought them their Alien blasts. Daniel turned slightly in the booth and caught sight of two teens sitting on the other side of the café.

"Daniel," Jack drawled as Daniel continued to stare at the two boys. "Earth to Daniel." Jack snapped as Daniel jerked and turned back to him.

"What?" Daniel gasped as he stared back at Jack.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" He questioned, frowning slightly.

"Don't they look familiar to you?" He inquired as he turned back to glance at the boys. "If I didn't know better, I'd think they were Zan and Rath."

"A younger version, perhaps." Sam agreed as she studied them as well.

"See," Daniel groaned.

"It can't be that easy," Jack mused as Maria returned at the time with their orders.

"Um, Maria?" Daniel began as she looked over at him. "You wouldn't happen to know those two brooding boys over there, do you now?"

"Boys?" Maria frowned as she followed Daniel's gaze to the boys in question. "Oh, they go to school with me, but I don't know them very well."

"Thanks," Sam replied quickly. "You wouldn't happen to know their names?"

Maria froze slightly, blinking quickly before she shrugged. "Max and Michael," she replied softly. "I think," She added quickly as she placed the burgers in front of them. "If you need anything else just let me know."

"We will," Jack nodded as she smiled and quickly retreated to behind the counter.

"Is it just me, or does she know more then she is letting on?" Daniel stated after she left the table.

"She was indeed nervous," Teal'c added and the rest nodded as they began to eat their meal in silence, glancing over at the teens every once in awhile.

* * *

Maria studied the four in the booth nervously, pacing back and forth in the kitchen. "Liz!" She practically cried out as she entered the kitchen.

"I know I'm a little late, but I just had to finish my paper." She exclaimed quickly as she tied her apron on.

Maria sighed, "Only you would do homework during the summer."

"I like it," Liz smiled as Maria rolled her eyes in reply. "So, has it been a busy lunch?"

"Not really," Maria drawled as she drew Liz closer. "But there is a group of people that were asking about Max and Michael."

"What?" Liz gasped. "Who?"

"Don't let them see you," she warned as she pointed to the booths. "The four there in the booth. Three guys and a girl, and I might add the guys are way hotter up close."

"And they were asking about Max and Michael?" She questioned as she turned back to Maria.

"Yeah," Maria nodded. "You need to go warn them, there's just something weird about them."

"Weird?" Liz repeated, with a loud sigh. "Weird 'Czechoslovakian stuff weird' or just a little weird?"

"Czechoslovakian stuff weird," Maria groaned as she glanced back at the booth. "You have to go warn them, I told them I didn't know them- but they haven't seen you, so you can go out and say hi to them without them knowing."

"Okay," Liz nodded as she adjusted her alien headband and went out to the dinning room area and crossed over to Michael and Max.

"Liz," they both regarded as she smiled and slid into the booth with Max.

"Um, have you noticed the people in the other booth?" Liz questioned as Michael's eyes narrowed.

"I told you they were watching us," Michael hissed as Max frowned.

"They asked Maria who you guys were, she played it off, but she's still a little nervous about it." She explained as she took a second to look over at the both only to have them looking back at her. "Oh, no."

Daniel took that moment and stood up and crossed over to the group. Liz stood up quickly and let Max slide out. Max and Daniel studied each other briefly.

"Zan?" Daniel asked and Max's eyes widened. "The resemblance is uncanny, are you not King Zan of Antar?"

Max held out his hand ready to strike. "Who are you and how do you know about me and Antar?"

"Um, actually, I know about the Royal Four and Antar," Daniel explained as Michael stood up abruptly.

"Who are you?" Michael hissed as Max pushed him back behind him.

"I am Doctor Daniel Jackson," he began and glanced back at the booth. "And I am apart of SG-1. And I can not go into more details of my mission, unless I know for sure you are the one we have been seeking."

Max and Michael shared a nervous glance. "Who are you seeking?"

"The Royal Four," Daniel began as the rest of his team joined him at his side.

"So where are the girls?" Jack questioned as he stood beside them.

"We really need to talk with you in private; this isn't something we can discuss here." Daniel continued. "You need to consider if you are willing to go home and fulfill your destiny."

"Go home?" Michael squeaked as he took a step forward. "We can go home?"

"Yes," Sam smiled. "It's there waiting for you, your people are hoping for your to return."

"I'll call the girls," Liz whispered softly. "You can talk here. I'll flip the close sign until you are done."

"Thank you, Liz," Max smiled and reached out to touch her hand.

Liz shook here head and forced a smile to her face. "It's your destiny."

* * *

Ten minutes later, two girls rushed in and crossed over to Michael and Max. "What's going on? Liz was really cryptic on the phone." Isabel asked as she looked over at the four strangers.

"Hi," Tess smiled as she looked at the four of them. "I'm Tess and this is Isabel, I assume that you've meet Max and Michael already."

"I'm Colonel Jack O'Neill and this is the rest of my team. We are the first contact team for the SGC."

"You're military?" Max gasped a hunted look in his eyes.

"Er, not exactly," Daniel added, stepping in. "Jack and Major Samantha Carter are part of the United States Air Force. I'm Doctor Daniel Jackson and I'm a civilian consultant and Teal'c is a Jaffa Warrior."

"Jaffa?" Isabel repeated. "Is that even human?"

"Not exactly," Jack smirked. "You'll learn more about Jaffa's, Goa'uld's, and the rest of the gang later."

"How do you know all this?" Isabel questioned as she anxiously ran her hands through her hair.

"As Jack explained, we are the first contact team, SG-1. We are peaceful explorers that travel through space through a system of gates that your people created." Daniel paused, before he continued on with his explanation. "We were hailed by Arriyana a member of the high council, she wished that the Royal Four of Antar would be found and brought back home." Daniel stated as he pulled out the photo of the portrait.

"Why now?" Max questioned harshly.

Sam pulled out the communication device and the four gasped in reply. "They had believed you died in the crash. They had information that the ship had crashed, but no confirmation that anyone had lived until the communication device had been set off."

The four teens nodded and looked at them for more information. Daniel handed them the photo. "Oh, it's us." Tess gasped as she held onto it. "Where did you get this?"

"On Antar," Jack shrugged.

"But, how?" Max questioned, confusion etched in his face.

"Would you like to see for yourself?" Daniel asked. "But, only you four can go and you can not speak of this to anyone else."

"We can go home?" Michael reiterated.

"Indeed." Teal'c commented as the teens stared at him.

"He can talk?" Tess gasped, a small smile on her lips.

"Talking was not deemed necessary at the time." Teal'c stated softly. "Was it not?"

"You're good T," Jack laughed. "Okay, boys and girls, who wants to go home?"

* * *

The four teens stood in front of the Stargate in awe. They were briefed in full and signed on the dotted line.

"Does it hurt?" Isabel asked as she glanced over at Sam.

"No, but it may make you feel a little sick and disorientated when you first step through, but it passes." She explained quickly as the rest of the SG-1 team joined them.

"Ready to go?" Jack questioned as he stepped in front of the Royal Four. "Let's go home."

The end.
